Day 1:
“Body-Conscious Barrel Rolls and Figure 8 Navigation”
Rediscover the vertical plane in a more dynamic and sustainable way by incorporating breath alignment, falling momentum and fluid maneuvering.
Barrel rolls are not the impossibly painful task they often appear to be. Yes, they’re a “wow” move, but they can also occur softly and with openness to transitional opportunity, once void of that tension that arises in the preparation of movement. Though it’s a “barrels” class, consider it aimed at a set of principles potentially valuable to all of hooping –(specifically when it comes to sequencing and ceaseless transition).
Once comfortable harnessing momentum, we can explore how to better use weaving and tipping, along with the uses of the figure 8, as a means to redirect that same, initial momentum, without compromising it. ...or your back (side note). It’s a foundation that will, in turn, lend itself to the 3-dimensional realm via a more fluid ramp system and a further integrated understanding of how it’s all the same thing. |
Day 2:
"Transitional Space and the Wave Current"
Found pathways and conceptual thinking for plane changes and all the infinite space in between. ...this class in particular ascribes to hardy any geometric boundaries at all, rather developing itself organically by an observation of our own balance, hoop receptivity and perceived textures that work as A- a kind of super-highway for arriving on any and every plane available and B- a means by which to embrace and experience the surrounding space, thus infusing ourselves with a sense of softness and capacity to sail through the terrain we each create. This class is simultaneously very technical and very abstract. It’s also beginner-friendly while infinitely improvable for you experts. Either way, it will help to initiate a much wider expanse of options when it comes to handling the hoop and a format by which to understand them cohesively.
