Playshops

Graduating from the University of Lethbridge with a B.F.A and a B.ED. SaFire has turned her teaching skills towards prop manipulation. Skilled in poi spinning, staff spinning and hula hoop dancing she is able to provide instructional playshops for kids and adults. In 2008, Hooping.org awarded SaFire their annual Hoopie Award of Hoop Instructor of the Year. Playshops create a fun learning environment that is appropriate for both staff and students.

  • As a PD session for staff
  • A guest lesson for gym, dance or drama classes
  • Meeting your daily physical activity requirements
  • A specialized experience for interested students

Hoop Dancing Playshops




Hula hoops are fun whether you're two years old or 82 years old. Participants will experience the fun and joy of hooping as they learn more about this art and develop some beginner skills in hoop dancing. Participants will also be provided with web links and additional information on how to continue their skills in hoop dance.

Everyone should have the opportunity to learn how to juggle. In this workshop we'll learn the begins steps to juggling and be introduced to the artform of contact juggling.

SaFire is Currently Traveling

SaFire will be traveling across the globe through the US, Europe, and Asia until the summer of 2011. Attending retreats, workshops and other events to focus on gaining new skills and new insights into the performing arts. She will be unavailable for local classes and performances unless of course there is a budget with 3-4 zeroes before the decimal point.
